Common Hedge Trimming jobs

The hedge is over the fence line or into a neighbour's garden. It's blocking light to a window, path or lawn. It's grown too tall to cut safely from a stepladder.

FAQs

Common questions about hedge trimming

How much does hedge trimming cost?

Hedge trimming starts from £195 and a hedge reduction from £350. The confirmed price depends on length, height, how much comes off and how easy the hedge is to reach — send a photo or two and we'll come back with a firm figure before anything starts.

When is the best time to cut a hedge?

Late summer through autumn and into winter suits most hedges. Nesting birds are protected and it's an offence to damage an active nest, so anything with birds in it waits until nesting has finished.

Can you take the height down on a tall conifer hedge?

Usually yes, and we can keep it there with a regular cut. Worth knowing: leylandii and most conifers won't regrow from bare brown wood, so we reduce down to green growth rather than cutting into the old wood.
