The job

What needed doing

The customer had noticed a couple of tiles out of line after a spell of windy weather and was worried about a small damp mark starting on an upstairs ceiling. They wanted someone to take a proper look, sort the tiles if it was a quick job, and give a straight answer on whether anything more serious was going on.

The gap in the roof was closed up so rain could no longer get in at that point, and the customer was reassured it was a small, contained repair rather than the start of a bigger job.

Checked safe access and looked over the affected section of roof
Refixed the slipped tiles and replaced two that had cracked
Checked the ridge line and nearby tiles for further movement
Explained where the damp mark had come from and what to keep an eye on
