The job

What needed doing

Years of moss, weeds and traffic film had dulled the block paving and filled the joints, with weeds pushing up across the drive and along the boundary wall. The customer wanted the driveway brought back to life without the cost and upheaval of relaying it.

The driveway came up bright and even, with clean joints and a sharp border — a big lift in kerb appeal for a fraction of the cost of relaying, and far less likely to green up again now the joints are sealed with fresh sand.

Work completed

Checked the paving, falls and joints, and cleared the area to work the whole drive
Removed weeds, moss and grass from the joints and along the edges
Deep-cleaned the block paving in controlled passes to lift moss, algae and ingrained dirt
Cleaned the charcoal border course and channel back to a crisp edge
Re-sanded the joints with kiln-dried sand to lock the blocks and slow regrowth
Rinsed down and cleared the debris, leaving the drive ready to use
